Nono, Russell. Americans in general do not suck at geography. I suck at geography. And anything to do with directions, navigation and/or locating myself in any space bigger than a broom closet. XD
In case you're interested, I have since done some research, and the Hinterlands are, in fact, South of Brisbane. I should have realized this when we were at Best of All Lookout and we could see Surfer's Paradise, but there you go.
